The Best Things are Green Things!

Since it’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m in a silly mood, I thought I’d do a post all about GREEN today. I love green. Green is my favorite color! So naturally, my eyes are drawn to green things. Today I’ve collected some of my favorite books with awesome green covers, so we can all ooh and ahh and celebrate the awesomeness of green. And then, maybe go drink a green beer, or whatever it is you’re supposed to do on St. Patrick’s Day.

First: Awesome Green Books I’ve Read

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis Splintered, by A. G. Howard Poison, by Bridget Zinn

And Also: Green Books I Want to Read

  1. I love, LOVE the cover of Amber House. So much that I bought it. My favorite covers are actually the red ones, but green is my favorite color in real life. I DNFed Summer Prince, FYI. But Magisterium was fun. And really weird. But fun. Ha.

    • I know, Amber House has such a gorgeous cover! The blending of blues, greens, and yellow is really well done there. Over at A Bookish Heart, Asti linked to a video where a cover designer mentioned that green books don’t sell, so your comment about liking red ones best has me curious now.

Hmm, thanks for the warning about Summer Prince. I actually still haven’t decided if I want to read it, but my sister has it, and we’ll be seeing the author at Teen Book Con, so I’ve been considering it. We’ll see. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Well hello mind-reader! So funny we created the same post for today, but hey, someone needs to represent these green covers and let the world know that they will be bought!

I didn’t add Inheritance to my list, but I have read that series. Only problem is, I can’t remember much about it. Eek! And I am intrigued by Poison. Did you do a review on it? Did you like it? Huh huh huh?

    • Indeed, it looks like the green books need our support! I added Inheritance to my list because I just really like the cover and the shades of green it has. It wasn’t one of my favorite books or anything, though.

Yes, I loved Poison and I reviewed it here: January Mini-Reviews. If you like fun fantasy, I definitely recommend it! :D

  3. I LOVE GREEN TOO! I mean, I really loved green things. I like green food (except sprouts and cabbage), green clothes, accessories, everything green! Harry Potter has to be up there as a favourite green book. I love the cover with green on of Elantris by Branden Sanderson too which I have read. Lover Mine by J.R. Ward has a green cover and I love that book too and my copy of Hamlet is all green. Wooo for green. The Summer Prince, oh yes! :)

  4. Cute post! I like it! Splintered is one of my favorites! I have read Eragon, but never finished the series…I really should someday-I love dragons! The ones I have heard of are Summer Prince and All Our Pretty Songs-both of which are on my TBR! :)

    • I really enjoyed Splintered, too. :) I read most of the Eragon series via audiobook, so it was nice, but then when the final book came out I had to read that giant tome on paper, which wasn’t nearly as fun as an audiobook.

    • Awwww, that IS a great green cover! I don’t know how I missed it when I was making this post. I must have found out about it AFTER I drafted this post. What a shame, it’s the cutest one! ^_^

  5. Ha! Best St Patty’s Day post goes to you! :D I NEED to the Beth Ravis series! I’ve heard so much about it I’m uber curious! I wonder how many more times the covers of it will change >.< Splintered was meh for me. Poison looks good though and it's so sad the author passed away before the book was released :( All the others re so pretty as well All Our Pretty Songs' cover is my favorite it's simple but sriking!

    • Wow, I’m surprised you haven’t read the Across the Universe series OR Poison! They’re both pretty awesome; I hope you get to read them soon. Yeah, I agree about the All Our Pretty Songs cover. Simple, but elegant and eye-catching. It’s what initially got me interested in that book. Thanks for visiting! :)

  6. Love green books! They’re just so pretty. :) Maybe it’s because I feel like I’ve been swallowed up by white snow, but a little colour is NECESSARY right now!

    • Hehehe, I couldn’t agree more! Things are getting warmer where I live (Texas), so there’s probably a bit more green here than there is where you are. :)

  7. Splintered has got to be one of my favourite reads of the year so far – and the cover just jumps out at me!! I think I’d add Linger by Maggie Stiefvater to this list, because Maggie speaks to my heart. And probably Matched by Allie Condie, because the imagery is so interesting!

    • Aww, glad you liked all the green! :D Don’t feel too bad. I did have a hard time coming up with this many books with green covers. Apparently green isn’t very popular for book covers! :(
