Reading Recap – March 2013

In 2013, I’m going to post a recap each month, talking about all of the books I read in that month. My goal is to read 60 books this year, which means five books a month. In March, my plan was to read the following 5 books: Shades of Earth by Beth Revis, Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi, Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes – plus one book I quickly read before I posted that TBR post: Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans. In addition, I’ve been listening to the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson on audio, in my car, whenever I have the opportunity.

Did I really think I was going to make my way through all of those books? Heck no. Did I make it through all of those books? Uhm, yes, and then some?!

What I read in March

Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans Raven (a Delirium story) by Lauren Oliver Shades of Earth by Beth Revis The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan The Ash-Born Boy by Victoria Schwab

East of Eden by John Steinbeck Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and Michelle Rowen Through the Ever Night, by Veronica Rossi The Shattered Mountain by Rae Carson

Requiem, by Lauren Oliver Crewel by Gennifer Albin Naive Super by Erlend Loe

Okayyyy, holy crap. Even though a few of these are novellas, I still think this might be a record month for me. How the heck did I do it?! I honestly don’t know. But I like it, all the same. And I did post full reviews for some of these, so my mini-reviews post shouldn’t be TOO overwhelming. I hope.

Reading Challenge Updates

Here’s the progress I’ve made so far on my  reading challenges for 2013.

Book Bingo

This month I didn’t get any BINGOs but I did make a lot of progress. (See all my progress here.)

  • Level 2, Shades of Earth, and Through the Ever Night help me cross of square N4.
  • East of Eden and The Lover’s Dictionary help me cross of square B3.
  • Keeper of the Lost Cities, Falling Kingdoms, and Requiem help me cross of square I3.
  • Crewel starts my first progress toward square I4.

Debut Author Challenge

It did make a little progress this month, with Level 2. At least I’m on target for the year, with 3 read by March. (See all my progress here.)

Seriously Series

I got to cross of a few series this month! I love crossing things off of lists! In March, I got to cross off the Across the Universe, Under the Never Sky, and Delirium series! Of course, I also started a couple of new series this month, so maybe I’ll get around to adding them — and then crossing them off — my Seriously Series Challenge list for this year.
