Teaser Tuesday – Requiem by Lauren Oliver

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I wasn’t going to do a teaser this week. Since I’ve started doing the Top Ten Tuesday meme, my plan was to alternate them so that I only do one meme post each Tuesday. BUT. I started reading Requiem last night and I was surprised by so many lovely passages that I just couldn’t help myself.

Requiem, by Lauren Oliver

Requiem, by Lauren Oliver

From Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver

Lena:

“Alex.” I repeat his name like a prayer, like a magic spell that will make everything okay again.

___________

Hana:

I flip quickly to the chapter on dreaming, scanning several pages that detail, in boring technical terms, the unintended side effect of the sure: dreamless sleep. Then I spot a sentence that makes me want to hug the book to my chest…

The book is written alternately between the point of view of Lena and Hana, which is why I included a teaser for both of them. Okay, I did try to keep this spoiler-free, so my teasers might be more of a tease than they usually are.

  1. I haven’t read the first two books in this series but I do like the cover and it’s a good tease!
Might be adding these to my tbr ….sigh…which is huge!

    Here’s my TT

    • Hehehe, my to-read list is huge too. That’s the trouble with all these awesome memes and other great posts on book blogs. You keep finding MORE books that you want to read! :)

  2. I loved Requiem. I’m so sad to see this series end, but I guess I can always go back and start it all over again :) I hope you are loving it!

    My Teaser

    • As am I! I had a lot of anxiety about reading Requiem, after the way that Pandemonium ended (have fun!), but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. We’ll see how I feel once I finish the book though.
