(The Archived #2)
Imagine a place where the dead rest on shelves like books. Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures that only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.
Last summer, Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper tasked with stopping violent Histories from escaping the Archive, almost lost her life to one. Now, as she starts her junior year at Hyde School, she’s struggling to get her life back. But moving on isn’t easy — not when her dreams are haunted by what happened. She knows the past is past, knows it cannot hurt her, but it feels so real, and when her nightmares begin to creep into her waking hours, she starts to wonder if she’s really safe. Meanwhile, people are vanishing without a trace, and the only thing they seem to have in common is Mackenzie. She’s sure the Archive knows more than they are letting on, but before she can prove it, she becomes the prime suspect. And unless Mac can track down the real culprit, she’ll lose everything, not only her role as Keeper, but her memories, and even her life. Can Mackenzie untangle the mystery before she herself unravels?
With stunning prose and a captivating mixture of action, romance, and horror, The Unbound delves into a richly imagined world where no choice is easy and love and loss feel like two sides of the same coin.
Have you SEEN this cover?! I think I like it even more than the cover for The Archived. And hello, sequel to a Victoria Schwab book — I NEED this. I can’t believe I have to wait almost a YEAR, just looking at the cover and pining…
I have the first on my TBR list, the concept is fantastic!
I hope you get to read it soon. It’s so interesting, and the concept is quite original, I think! :)
I’ve seen this book before but I haven’t had a chance to check out the series yet.
Here’s my WoW
I highly recommend it! Victoria Schwab has a way with words, and her books are always very imaginative!
I just ordered a copy of The Archived after seeing so many rave reviews for it – so I’m sure I’ll be ten out of ten excited for this once I finish. For now, I have to admit that I am in LOVE with that cover! And the green matches your blog so nicely :)
Ooh, I hope you love The Archived! And you’re right, the green on the cover DOES match my blog! I love when that happens. :D
I really need to read the first book in the series. I have it, I just haven’t read it yet. The first one looks awesome, and so does this one.

Yeah, it’s a really great concept. The first book wasn’t as creepy as I was expecting, but I’m not sure what’s in store for book 2! :)
Just started The Archived for a March book club, and I’m really enjoying it. I love her writing style and I just really love the concept. Awesome pick!
Thanks for visiting our WoW! :)
Yay, I hope you love it! :D
