Almost Here! (February 2013)

I decided to start a new feature where each month I talk about upcoming things in the YA world that I’m excited about. This includes new book releases, movies of YA books, book signing events, etc. Keep in mind that this is definitely not everything. It’s only the stuff that I know about and/or am most interested in.

I mean, finally, this stuff is almost here!

Book Releases

I’ve pretty much been pining for most of these books for ages. Some of them I have gotten to read as ARCs, which is amazing, but I’m still looking forward to their actual release! Two debuts, two sequels, and one novella. I think that’s a pretty good mix!

Scarlet, by Marissa Meyer  Unravel Me, by Tahereh Mafi  Pivot Point by Kasie West  City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster  Neferet's Curse by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Yes, I see that there is a House of Night novella on this list. Look, I can’t help it. That series is a guilty pleasure. Plus, the novellas are so much better than the actual series books!

Movies

You’ve read Beautiful Creatures, right?

Beautiful Creatures movie

I enjoyed the Caster Chronicles series, and so I’ve been looking forward to seeing the first book made into a movie! At first, I wasn’t very happy with most of the casting choices, but I’m trying to remain neutral. Oh wait, instead of just posting that image, maybe I should include the movie trailer, eh?

Book Events

Marissa MeyerMy sister and I love attending book signings, so we go to every YA event we can find in our area. For February, the only one we’ve got lined up is Marissa Meyer, but I’m totally excited! It’s the Scarlet release! And I’m pretty sure I’m going to pick up a Cinder paperback for her to sign, too, being a super fangirl and all.

If you’re in Houston, join us at Blue Willow Bookshop to meet Marissa Meyer!

  1. City of a Thousand Dolls looks really awesome.

Oooh, and Beautiful Creatures. Haven’t read that book, but I hear the film is fairly good. My friend wants to go, so hopefully we’ll be going to the cinema to see it! :)

So, what do YOU think?
