Teaser Tuesday – Days of Blood and Starlight

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

So, I’m currently reading Defending Jacob, and I’d love to do a teaser from that, but I don’t have the book with me right now, so I’m going to do something else. I’ve also been reading this sample of Days of Blood and Starlight (omg), so I’ll post a random teaser from that.

“Angels,” breathed the reporter, who was young and pretty in the usual  catalog‑model‑meets‑assassin way of TV reporters. “Did you have any idea?”

Kaz laughed. Predicting it, Zuzana fake‑laughed right along with him. “What, you mean that there really are angels, or that my girlfriend is on their bad side?”

“Ex‑girlfriend,” hissed Zuzana.

He lay there, looking up at the stars and breathing, and as the air passed in and out of him, it settled on him with weight that he was alive.

I heart Zuzana; so glad she’s back in book two. I can’t WAIT to get my hands on this book! If you haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet, I cannot recommend it enough. LOVE this series!

    • Hahaha, seriously, I know how you feel! And I’m only reading the short teaser that’s available online in that link I posted. You can read it too! :D

    • OMG I can’t believe you’ve had it so long and haven’t read it yet! I bet if you just read the first page, you’d be dying for me. At least, that’s how it happened for me. :) I hope you get time to read it soon, because it’s so good!

So, what do YOU think?
